Good news for parents in the Kansas City metro area: MommyCon is coming to our neighborhood this year!
What is this “MommyCon” you speak of?
MommyCon is a boutique-style convention geared toward the natural parenting philosophy. About 350 parents and parents-to-be, as well as their families, will be attending this year. We’ll get to listen to over a dozen seminars on subjects like pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, babywearing, car seat safety, cloth diapering, and other topics relevant to the modern parent. Speakers for the Kansas City show include January Harshe of Birth Without Fear, Jessica Martin-Weber of The Leaky Boob, and Jamie Grayson of The Baby Guy Gear Guide, among others.
In addition to the speakers, there will be a cloth diapering resource area presented by Sloomb and a babywearing lounge sponsored by Beco and Ergobaby. And, of course, tons of companies will be there with great things to show you to help your family stay happy and healthy, all while maintaining MommyCon’s focus on organic and pure products.
Everyone will leave with a goodie bag full of fun products from MommyCon sponsors. Previous bags have included samples from Milkin’ Cookies, lillebaby, Rockin’ Green, Happy Superfoods, and MAM. Each city is a little different, though, so our swag bags will be a total surprise!
When will MommyCon be in KC?
This year’s MommyCon will be taking place at the Overland Park Convention Center on Saturday, October 26th from 9:30 AM -5:30 PM. VIP packages will also include other events in addition to the main convention. So far, MommyCon has not released details on the additional events, but I will be sure to update you as soon as I get more info!
How can I get in on the fun?
You can purchase tickets online at the MommyCon site. A single admission is $40 for the whole day, and for $75 you can get a pair. (VIP packages and special events will be offered at an additional cost.)
